World Origami Days celebration with free origami workshop in Charlie Byrne's Bookshop by Thomas Cuffe

The bookshop in Middle Street will host an origami workshop with origami expert Thomas Cuffe, on Saturday the 9th of November

Thomas Cuffe, an irish origami artist, will host a free origami workshop and display between 12 noon and 4pm as part of Origami Worlds days.

He will be at some schools in county Galway as well, delivering Art and Maths to teachers and students alike. You can check dates and times on the website

The Workshop is part of the Origami World Days paying homage to  Lillian Oppenheimer (1898-1992), who founded the first origami group in the Western world. She was also one of the founders of the British Origami Society and OrigamiUSA. A dynamic woman, she was delighted in the magic to be found in a piece of paper and wanted to share it with the world.
Everybody is welcome and it is a free event.
Let’s try our first origami crane, a symbol of peace in Japan!
