This Friday, January 24th in Monroe’s (Upstairs) the band No Stairway will put on a show unlike any you’ve seen before.

Drawing their set list from the main hits and rarer tunes, expect a great night recreating Zeppelin at the height of their powers!

On Thursday the 30th of January, the restaurant Tom Sheridan’s (in Knocknacarra) is celebrating a French Food day, and offering the possibility to join them for free by liking their post on Facebook

This culinary tour of France starts at 7.30pm and it includes a 4 course French style menu paired with hand picked fines wines that compliment each course beautifully.

akumakon galway Akumakon is an Anime, Manga and Japanese Culture event that happens in, NUI Galway this weekend (from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th of January).

Being one of the biggest events like this in the West of Ireland, they aim to provide a fun-filled weekend for the attendees every January. Events include cosplay events, video game tournaments, Japanese culture events, nerd culture-related events, a pub quiz, special guests, a trade hall and performances from many talented people. In 2013, Akumakon experienced its most successful year to date (over 700 attendees) and raised over €1,500 for charities.

The convention is located in the Aras na Mac Leinn on the NUI Galway grounds

Tickets are available at the door on the weekend. Weekend Tickets – €25 Day Pass – €15

New Year Wishes Walk

New Year Wishes Walk

On Sunday 19th from 12:30 – 5:00 folks are invited to walk 1km, 4km or 8km depending on your energy levels.
At the end of the walk you can hang your wishes on the Wishing Tree. Proceed to benefits Galway Simon and Brigit’s Gardens charities.

€6 per adult or €15 per family.
Dogs welcome and walks suitable for buggies.
