Coole Music Concert in Kinvara

On Sunday, 4th May, as part of the Fleadh na gCuach 20th Anniversary celebrations, Coole Music will host its Annual Gala Concert in Kinvara Community Centre, commencing at 6pm.


This is a family event, priced at just 5 euros admission with children under 6 free.

Including the visiting Swedish Choir ‘Aquarellen‘, it will feature the Coole Music Youth Orchestra, Sonic Strings, international String Quartet Yukatope, and virtuosi Peter Sebestyen and Robert Solyom on cello and clarinet.

Fleadh na gCuach, The Cuckoo Festival, is a traditional music and community based arts festival running from Friday to Monday. A well-established and richly deserved reputation has ensured that the Fleadh has become a showcase for the best in traditional music, attracting musicians from all over the country and beyond.

Saturday 1st of March is full of activities, day and night, and not only in Galway city.

In Kinvara the 4th edition of the Rock & Road propose 4 different options: you can RUN 10 K or half Marathon or you can WALK 10K or half Marathon.

Last year the winners of the 10 K were Matt Bidwell 32:57  and Anna Crooks 39:15, can you beat them??

If you want to spend the rest of the weekend in this beautiful town, (Kinvara is a great village for an Apres Run) The Easy Peas will be playing from 10 pm in Connollys Bar

10:00               “Guided shore walk by IWDG, Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark for adults and children. Meet at tent on the Pier.

12:00                Open Air Mass at the Pier Head followed by blessing of the Boats.

13:00                Launch of new Bad Adhmad (wooden currach), started by the late Saor Bad Colm Mulkerrins and finished by his son Joseph, in Maonis Carna.

13:00                Start of “FAMILY DAY/CHILDRENS VILLAGE” on the Green. Face painting. Inflatable Slides/ Bouncy Castle fully supervised and insured. Provided by City Limits.  Fancy Dress at the Green. This year’s theme “Sea Creatures”.

13:15                Skippers Meeting on the Pier, Kinvara.

15:00                Hooker race from Kinvara for the ‘Colm Mulkerrins Trophy’.

15:15                Leath Bhad Race from Kinvara.

15:30                Parade of Sails Kinvara Sailing Club.

 15:30 – 18:30   “The Rascals and An Anu” (a local Folk group) live on Stage outside the Pier Head.

18:00                Draw for the ‘ORIGINAL PAINTING’ by local artist Mark Dwyer for this  year’s Cruinniú na mBád poster which depicts the Hooker ‘The Mount’  with Bádoir Dudley Grealish waiting to sell His turf at Kinvara Quay.

18:15                Presentation of all racing prizes and raffle prizes on the Pier.

Besides, Mark Dwyer’s Exhibition of ‘oil on canvas’ paintings “Kinvara in the 1950s” will run until the 31st of Aug. at Murphystore, the Quay, Kinvara.
